(Dan Tri) – American billionaire Charles Feeney passed away on October 9 at the age of 92. While alive, he donated his entire fortune of $8 billion to charity, including hundreds of millions of dollars in support.

According to information on the homepage of Atlantic Philanthropies, Mr. Charles Feeney’s former charity organization, he passed away in San Francisco, USA on October 9.
Mr. Feeney was born in 1931 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, USA.
In 1960, Mr. Feeney and classmate Robert Miller founded the retail company Duty Free Shoppers (DFS).
Notably, he is a very compassionate person.
In 1982, he founded the Atlantic Philanthropies charity fund.
He is a pioneer in the idea of Giving While Living.
His humanitarian actions are said to have inspired the Giving Pledge movement that billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett have launched since 2010.
Mr. Buffett once praised Mr. Feeney as a hero.
Billionaire Bill Gates also described Chuck Feeney as a `great inspiration`.
Active support for Vietnam
In his philanthropic activities, through Atlantic Philanthropies, Mr. Feeney has spent 380 million USD to support Vietnam in improving the health and education system.
The more than two-decade relationship with Vietnam began when Mr. Chuck Feeney learned about the East Meets West Foundation (EMWF), a humanitarian organization headquartered in San Francisco (USA).
Mr. Chuck Feeney immediately called the head of EMWF and wrote a check for 100,000 USD to support.
After that, billionaire Chuck Feeney went to Vietnam to learn about EMWF’s activities.
